HSPICE Advanced Topics
Overview
This workshop enhances the student's use of HSPICE for statistical analysis and signal integrity applications.
The student will learn how to use the Monte Carlo analysis feature to perform statistical analyses, use linear analysis to extract S-parameters from multi-port networks, use the HSPICE field solver to extract transmission line parameters and, use S-parameters, transmission lines and IBIS models in signal integrity applications.
Objectives
At the end of this workshop the student should be able to:
- Describe the HSPICE file structure
- List the HSPICE output files
- Invoke and use CosmosScope
- Review measure statements to verify circuit specifications
- Use statistical analysis to analyze circuit variations
- Use W-element transmission lines in simulation
- Use the field solver
- Use the S-element in simulations
- Use IBIS models in simulations
- Use linear analysis to extract S-parameters
