This hands-on, instructor-led course will help improve plant availability and utilization by providing an overview of the Tricon system with a primary focus on maintenance and troubleshooting. Participants are taught basic principles of Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture and system configuration including field wiring, power distribution, and module capabilities. Participants get practical experience with continuity checks, loop testing, and general field maintenance. This hands-on, instructor-led course will help improve plant availability and utilization by providing an intensive, hands-on, advanced maintenance course.  The primary course objectives are to recognize and respond to alarms.  These include understanding internal, external, and field faults.  Basic Tricon implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the system will be reviewed at the start of the course. Participants will also use the features of the Diagnostic Monitor, including responding to error messages, security, and reporting features.  Students get practical experience with the Diagnostic monitor of the Windows-based TriStation 1131 Developer’s Workbench to troubleshoot, respond to alarms, replace modules, and clear faults. This hands-on instructor-led course will help improve plant availability and utilization by covering all aspects of TRICON® implementation and maintenance. Students are taught the principles of Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture, system configuration, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the TRICON system. Using the Windows-based TriStation 1131 Developer's Workbench, participants primarily concentrate on basic navigation techniques in order to configure and program a system with digital and analog I/O. 8907 TriStation 1131 Programming with Wonderware
This hands-on instructor-led course will help improve plant availability and utilization by covering all aspects of the operational concepts, navigation and basic programming features of the Windows based TriStation 1131 Developers
Workbench. This intensive course will provide a simulated plant environment with the TRICON controller, TriStation 1131, and Wonderware Intouch, an industry standard HMI package. Students will download program logic and maintain the application in the controller and Wonderware. Communications will be emphasized to maintain the integrity of the project. Students write program logic from a flow chart, using the Function Block Diagram Editor, one of the language editors available in TriStation 1131. An overview of the fundamentals of Wonderware InTouch will be presented. This state-of-the-art HMI package will be used during the “hands-on” portion of the training to display and modify point values.
The course will emphasize “real-world” applications as well as academic theory. Students configure and program a system with digital and analog I/O. This hands-on, instructor-led advanced-level programming course will help improve plant reliability and robustness by providing instruction for advanced programming techniques using the Windows-based TriStation 1131 Developer's Workbench. The objective of this course is to efficiently design program logic that is commonly used in Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and process control applications. The principles of project development, partitioning logic, writing function blocks and functions, and memory allocation will be incorporated into the design of industry standard and custom applications. Participants can write program logic in Function Block Diagram or Structured Text, which are programming languages available in TriStation 1131. Participants will program a system with digital and analog I/O. Participants get practical experience in system operation such as downloading new programs, programming changes, and forcing I/O points. Participants will also make full use of the on-line and automatically generated documentation features of TriStation 1131. Participants will be given lab exercises to translate flow diagrams into program logic, which will be tested off-line and then downloaded to the TRICON® to simulate field conditions. 8960 TRICON Communications
This instructor-led course helps improve plant availability by providing detailed instruction and practical exercises for Tricon communications interfaces and utilities. Classroom theory and practical exercises will include TriStation 1131 programming, Trilogger, MODBUS Communication Interfaces, Peer-to-Peer networks, DDE Server, Sequence of Events, and Tricon System Access Application (TSAA). The primary objective of this course is to effectively use Tricon communications interfaces to maintain the control application. Peer-to-Peer network communications will also be used to pass data between Tricons. Participants will also configure a Sequence of Events program, and then use the application to verify that selected variables are time stamped with the correct value updates. This course will offer lectures, demonstrations, and practical exercises on selected communications protocols, as well installation and configuration of tagname databases to pass data via each link.
